SEREINA GABATHULER
Producer
Born in 1981 in Switzerland, Sereina Gabathuler graduated from commercial middle school at the well-known Zurich-Enge district school. She was subsequently employed at the Zürcher Kantonalbank before travelling to Australia and New Zealand for a year and successfully concluding her stay with the University of Cambridge Proficiency Certificate.
Back in Switzerland, she worked for five years for PAX Insurances starting in the summer of 2003. She simultaneously attended the European Film Actor School (EFAS) in Zurich from 2004 - 2007. Following this, she made several appearances in front of the camera and on stage.
Since January 2008, Sereina Gabathuler has been working with Dschoint Ventschr Filmproduktion, first as a production intern, then as a production assistant, production manager and executive producer. As of 2015, she works solely as a producer.
As a production manager, she was responsible for several projects, including David Sieveking‘s «David wants to fly», which premiered at the 2010 Berlinale. Her first experiences as an executive producer were gained on the live-action documentary «Enemies in Love» by Werner «Swiss» Schweizer. She was able to gather initial experience as a producer on the short film «Palim, Palim» by Marina Klauser and Pia Hellenthal, which was distinguished at the NIFF 2013. In May 2018, the anima-documentary «Chris the Swiss», which she produced, premiered at the Film Festival in Cannes.
In 2019, Sereina Gabathuler was selected to participate in the prestigious «Producers on the Move» program of the European Film Promotion (EFP).
