THE WALNUT TREE GANG
by Doris Wettstein, Victor Jaquier
When the two sisters Yoko (6) and Siloé (4) and their friend Vikram (7) head to their tree house in the fallow plot, it heralds the begin of a magical adventure. In this green oasis with its trees, bushes and hedges, myriad animals and plants have sought and found refuge.
In the wild fallow land, different laws prevail, because the animals and plants here are not prepared to let human thoughtlessness slide.
They demand respect and confront the children. As a result, the children see the magic in things and their view of nature changes.
Their relationship with each other also changes. They help each other and stand up for one another. Their different abilities and interests complement each other perfectly. The three children, who don't have that much in common, become a tight-knit group that learns to live together respectfully through their interaction with nature.
A piece of cake for the Nut Tree Gang!
